What is rescreening?
Rescreening replaces worn or damaged screen across all or part of an existing pool enclosure or lanai. The enclosure stays in place; the project focuses on the screen itself.
Signs your enclosure screen is wearing out
- Fading and discoloration. Screen that looks chalky, gray or uneven across the enclosure.
- Brittleness. Screen that tears easily when touched or pressed.
- Frequent new tears. You fix one area and another one goes.
- Sagging across many panels. Screen that looks loose throughout the enclosure.
- Mismatched patches. Individual repairs leaving the enclosure looking inconsistent.
Rescreening vs. repair
It depends on the condition of the screen and how widespread the damage is. Isolated damage may be suitable for pool screen repair or lanai screen repair. When wear or damage is widespread across the enclosure, rescreening may be worth discussing.
Pool cage vs. lanai rescreening
LWR Screen Enclosures provides this service for both pool enclosures and screened lanais. A pool cage surrounds the pool and deck, while a lanai is usually the screened area attached to the home that gets daily foot traffic, doors and pets. Which areas need new screen often depends on how you use each space and where the wear shows.
Full or partial rescreening
Not every project has to cover the whole enclosure. Different areas can wear at different rates, and the scope that makes sense depends on the condition of the screen in each area. We'll look at it with you during the estimate.
Screen options
Replacing worn screen is also a good time to reconsider the screen itself. LWR offers pet-resistant screen for areas pets reach and privacy screen for sides where you'd like more privacy. We'll go over the options during your estimate.
Screen doors and hardware
LWR Screen Enclosures also repairs screen enclosure doors and door hardware. If a door issue is present along with worn enclosure screen, it can be discussed during the estimate.
Storm-damaged screen
Significant storms can leave torn, loose or damaged screen across an enclosure. If the damage is isolated, a pool screen repair or a lanai screen repair may be the better fit. If the wear or damage is widespread, replacing the screen may be worth discussing. Call 941-239-7650 to describe what you're seeing.

When restoration or a new enclosure may fit better

Caring for your screen after rescreening
- Address new tears when you notice them.
- Keep leaves and debris from collecting against screened areas.
- Make sure enclosure doors continue to operate properly.
- Look over the screen and doors after significant storms.
